Christina M. Kennedy

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Christina later moved to Staten Island with her beloved husband, James William Kennedy III, where together they raised their two children and built a life filled with love, laughter and family. She spent her later years in Manalapan, New Jersey, where she resided with her son, James Kennedy IV, his wife, Nicole, their daughters, Lily and Eliana and dogs Toby and Taco. Christina was predeceased by her beloved husband, the love of her life, who passed away in November 2005.

Christina is survived by her children, Karyn Kennedy and James Kennedy IV; her daughter-in-law, Nicole; and her cherished granddaughters, Lily, Lia, and Eliana Kennedy, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her sisters, MaryAnne Dolan and Eileen Simone; her sisters- and brother-in-law,Kathy Curtin, Laura Kennedy, Josie Kennedy, Liz Kennedy and Michael Kennedy; numerous nieces and nephews, in addition to many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Thomas Curtin Jr; her brother, Thomas Curtin III; her parents-in-law, Eleanor and James Kennedy Jr. and her brother-in-law Joseph Simone.

Christina enjoyed a distinguished career as a legal secretary at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City and then began her most important job, being a stay-at-home mother and raising her family for years. She later returned to the workforce working in the Employee Health department at Staten Island University Hospital which she eventually retired from in 2020. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her compassion for animals, and the warmth she extended to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—watching tennis, playing Candy Crush, family game nights, trips to Atlantic City, the holidays, sharing a good meal, finding the best deals on the Home Shopping Network, and, above all, spoiling her granddaughters whenever she had the chance. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved.

Christina’s unwavering strength, kindness, and steadfast love for her family defined her life. She faced illness, loss, and every other obstacle with resilience. To those who knew her, she was the strongest woman they had known. Her love, perseverance, and strength she inspired in others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
