

Christine(Chris) known to her family and friends as kind, thoughtful, and loving., a.k.a. Nanny. Nanny was our biggest cheerleader who was ever-present in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Always interested and involved in the events of our lives.
Christine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael C, and parents Lillian and Donald Volpe.
Chris is survived by her loving daughters(“sons”), Christine Traks (Richard), Lori King-DeSantis (Jack), Deb King-Gordon (Peter), Tracey DeBard (Michael), and a son, Michael King. Nanny’s grandchildren, Kristy (Sean), Katie(Andrew), Laura(Dan), Kim(Tim), Steph(Steve), Jack(Angelique), Morgan, Joseph, and great-grandchildren Alex, Colt, Olivia, James, Aubrey, Evangeline, Mara and Silas were her pride and joy. Also survived by brother-in-law George, and nephews Michael and James.
Chris graduated from Port Richmond High School, married the love of her life, Michael, and raised 5 children. Chris was very involved in her children’s lives and gave her precious time to Blessed Sacrament School and Church, a very spiritual woman. Chris was a Girl Scout leader, softball coach, president of the Mother’s Guild, to name a few. Chris was the Mortgage Officer for Richmond County Savings Bank and then Independence Savings Bank for many years before retiring.
In her retirement, she spent many years with her husband traveling. Enjoying their time together on their boat, The King’s Ransom. Chris was a member of the Ladies Club at the Great Kills Yacht Club. They enjoyed many trips on the Hudson River with their boat and trips to Florida, Lake George, and the Poconos.
A visitation for Christine will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at RC Blessed Sacrament, 30 Manor Road, Staten Island, NY 10310. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 12:30 PM at St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
