Concetta Butta

Born to Teresa and Felize Cannata, Concetta was raised with strong family values that served as the foundation of her life. She was the beloved sister of Anthony Cannata, who predeceased her.

Concetta graduated from Washington Irving High School and began her career in banking. After marrying the love of her life, Frank Butta, she dedicated herself to raising their family. Together they shared a loving marriage of 50 years until Frank’s passing in June 2010. Their greatest accomplishments together were their children, Frank and Donna, whom Concetta nurtured with boundless love, patience, and guidance.

A woman of deep faith, Concetta was a devoted parishioner of St. Charles Church and later St. Clare’s Church. Her faith, kindness, and compassionate spirit were reflected in the way she cared for everyone around her.

Concetta found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved preparing delicious meals and baking for her family, enjoyed Broadway plays, and looked forward to the many trips to Atlantic City she and Frank shared. She had a lifelong love of Frank Sinatra’s music, a passion that began in her teenage years when she would sneak into matinee performances to hear him sing. She also loved classic films, especially It’s a Wonderful Life, a movie she never tired of watching with those she loved.

Blessed with an extraordinary memory, Concetta loved sharing stories from her childhood, and family and friends always got a kick out of hearing them. She preserved family history through the warmth and humor of her storytelling. She shared a deep and lasting bond not only with her immediate family, but also with her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, keeping those relationships close throughout her life. Above all else, nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many loved ones who filled her life with joy.

Concetta is survived by her beloved son, Frank Butta and his wife, Marianne; her devoted daughter, Donna and her husband, Pete; her four cherished grandchildren and their spouses; her two adored great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Concetta will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, generosity, and the joy she found in caring for others. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and influenced, the stories she lovingly passed down, the traditions she cherished, and the countless memories she created around her table and at family gatherings. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
