Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Christensen was raised in Freehold, N.J., and graduated from Freehold Borough High School. He moved to Arlington 23 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983, and was a member of the Marine Corps League on Staten Island.
He worked for the Liquori Septic company.
Mr. Christensen loved rooting for the New York Mets and the Giants. He also adored animals, and had two St. Bernard dogs. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast.
His son, Ryan Christensen, who served with the U.S. Army in Iraq, died in 2005.
Surviving is his wife of 19 years, the former Judith Feely, and a brother, Carl Christensen.
The funeral is tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton. Arrangements include cremation.
