My son attended the able seaman class & really liked it. However he never received the physical certifications & the school number is disconnected. Can anyone help with this?

I was truely sadden today, when I learned of Captain Wards sudden passing.  My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and his children. Only 3 week ago he phoned me and told me to bring my daughter down to his school ~ so we could both attend the "Master Class", that he was conducting.  I'm so sorry now, that I did not go to his classs and now I'll never have that chance again ~ boy did I really miss the boat!  Captain Ward had so much more to offer to the martime history of New York Harbor ~ But life is unpredictable and knowing Curt; I picture him passing on his modern day computerized maritime knowledge, new technologies an updated sea tales to all the "Old Salts" as they navigate the water in heven. HE WILL BE MISSED!

I knew Curtis from grammar school at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Class of 1973. We held our 40th anniversary reunion last summer and it was the first one we ever had. It was a great night of reconnecting, reminiscing, and many laughs. On behalf of the class of 1973, we send our sympathy to Curt's family and many friends. We are grateful we had the chance to reunite with him one more time. Rest in Peace.

I knew Curtis when we attended CSI and worked on various campaigns. He will be missed. God Bless.

Curt wasn't just a father to his own children, he was one for all of our friends as well. Curt was always there for us and always had great advice to share to help guide us in the right direction. Without his hospitality and kindness, my friends and I wouldn't have formed the strong bonds we have now. He will be sorely missed.

Curt was a citizen who contributed to the lives of all his fellow Staten Islanders without expectation of reward. He will be sorely missed.

Curtis was fIrst neighbor I met when I moved here in 1996. He was kind and friendly when he welcomed us to the neighborhood. He will be missed

Today I celebrate the life of my dear friend, protector and political ally, Captain Curt Ward. Curt was a man in the true sense of the word. He was honorable, steadfast and strong. Curt was a father, a brother and a cousin to us all. He was there whenever his community needed him, whether by design or by luck. He was woven into the fabric of our community - a true Staten Islander.

Curt was a Sandy Hook Pilot - one of the few, brave souls who knew how to navigate the mighty Hudson River. I used to prod him to tell us stories about his adventures....and adventures they were. I never tired of hearing them though he grew weary of having to tell them over and again.

Some say that men and women can't truly be friends, but Curt was my friend. He knew how to keep me on an even keel even when my life was rocky. I am grateful that we saw each other often over the past few months, and that we made it plain we loved each other. Curt was one of my biggest boosters. I don't know what I will do without him but I do know that I was lucky to have him.
