Electrical Contracting Executive & "Proud Union Man & Patriot" Daniel T. Driscoll, age 80, passed away on September 21, 2022 after suffering a long but brave battle with cancer. Dan,"Danny", leaves behind a tremendous legacy of family, friends, and lasting contributions to the many communities with which he was closely involved. Dan was a kind and generous man who was always eager to lend a helpful hand, whether it was to a family member, a friend, or a complete stranger. Dan, son of Daniel and Julia Driscoll, was born and raised in Westerleigh, Staten Island, and he graduated from Curtis High School in 1959. In 1960, he followed in his father's footsteps and entered a 6-year apprenticeship in the International Brotherhood of Electricial Workers. Simultaneously, Dan attended the College of Staten Island evening study program, from where he graduated in 1969. Additionally, he served in the Army National Guard from 1962-1968. Dan spent over 55 years working at Mulvihill Electric Co., as Superintendent and Vice President. He managed billion dollar projects such as the Holland Tunnel, and many other projects in NYC. He was a proud union man for Local Union 3 and an even prouder American Patriot. One small example of his American pride was when, in early 2000, Dan spearheaded a project to install American flags lining his street with his son Patrick. After retiring, Dan found joy on the golf course at the Silver Lake Senior Golf Club. He was happiest at the Lavallette Yacht Club where he served on the Board of Governors and Chairman of The Buildings and Grounds Committee for several years. He made many friends through the Staten Island Ski Club traveling all over the US and Europe. Prior to retirement, Dan Served as Financial Secretary for the SI Electrical Club, and Treasurer for the Parents of Hearing Impaired Children Staten Island. Dan is survived by his devoted wife of over 57 years, Roberta, and his children, Patrick, Keri (Guido Stroemer) and three grandchildren Brian Driscoll, Maxwell and Sydney Stroemer. Dan was the oldest of three children and is survived by his brother Peter (Judy). Dan was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Julia, and his youngest brother John (Mary). Dan loved his 5 nieces and nephews and 10 grandnieces and nephews. Dan was a life long parishioner of St. Teresa's where he was involved in coaching the YAA baseball and basketball team when his children were young. Dan was so loved by so many, and he will be deeply missed. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2pm-6pm at Casey's Funeral Home 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island , NY, 10314. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa's Church 1634 Victory Blvd in Staten Island, NY on Monday, September 26, 2022. at 10:45 a.m., followed by an interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
