Danny meant so much to me as a guide, source of humor and light.  He always had an eye out for others in need and was a friend to so many people in the community and at his residence.  I admire the great guy he was and I will forever keep him in my heart. He loved his family, friends and life! Thank you Danny for being in my life.

Danny will be forever loved and truly missed by everyone and anyone who knew him. He was a radiant light in all of our lives both personally and professionally and I am very proud to say that I knew him. Danny was the funniest, most honest, and all around coolest guy! He could make you laugh no matter what the circumstances were and at any time, especially if he sensed that you were having a rough day. That was Danny's gift, he was kind and goodhearted 100 percent of the time and he always put a smile on your face no matter what. His passion for life was not only beautiful and amazing but it was like a light house guiding all of us to shore. Danny will forever be truly loved, remembered, and revered for his many wonderful qualities. I can say with much confidence that he changed not only my life personally but many others as well and for that I am forever grateful.

I met Danny and his Dad back in 1998 when they came to visit Young at Heart in Jackson. I had the honor of visiting both Danny and his Dad in their home as they made the decision for Danny to attend Young at Heart.  I was the Social Worker in Jackson and enjoyed the daily interactions and special times of long conversations with Danny.  Danny later moved to Brick to the Arc apartments when is Father passed away.  Danny then started to attend the Brick Young at Heart.  I then was able to continue spending time with Danny as the Administrator.  Danny had a great sense of humor and brought much joy and laughter to so many.  I had the honor of getting to know Danny's Brothers and family. Danny had a great family that he often spoke of.  Danny loved so many people and so many loved him due to his compassion and helpful kindness.  I learned of Danny passing from our dear nurse Elizabeth.  We loved Danny and will forever hold him in our hearts.

R.I.P My friend, i had the pleasure of knowing Danny from working at young at heart,every Monday he would say to me why wasn't I in church Sat That was the way he always greeted me We had many laughs together. He's up there running around. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time My you find comfort in knowing he is home with our heavenly Father

I'm going to miss Danny he always came to program with a big smile on his face Danny was one of my best friends if I had a problem I would go to him he would listen then give me advice days where I was upset he would make me laugh and smile once he started he had everyone going it was tedious contagious he was an amazing guy couldn't help but love him Danny you and my mom can watch me over me now I love you Danny xoxo

Last night I heard of Danny's passing and I'm sure like many others, I was shocked. I immediately recalled his huge smile and him bending over in laughter at a typical Rodes one liner provided by one of his brothers. To my dear friends Tommy and Eddie and the entire Rodes family please take some comfort in my vision of Danny running swiftly and effortlessly through the gates of heaven into the loving arms of his parents.

I will miss Danny very much I loved his laughing and smile because he was the best friend ever,  he was fun to go to concerts and activities with I will miss you Danny thank you for your fun.

I had the pleasure of working with Danny at the ARC of Ocean as one of his staff. His positive outlook on life was infectious.He had a keen sense of knowing when someone needed his help. He was always willing to help,sit and chat and offer advise.It is a humbing experience to be a provider of care to someone like Danny and realize that he was able to give care as well. He was always looking foward  to having a good time and looked foward to the next outing before the one we were on was even over.He would sit with staff and clients and we would always, no matter what the situation was, end up laughing. He was able to laugh at himself, which made it easier to handle when he laughed at me for some crazy thing I either said or did. He was able to give support to staff and a shoulder to lean on. One birthday , one of our clients wrote a birthday card for Danny which said Happy Birthday to the Man with the big heart and the big head. Although I don't agree with the big head,Danny had one of the biggest hearts I ever did meet.He has left a piece of his heart in mine.Rest in Peace Danny. You have earned your wings.

We are so sorry for your loss. Danny was part of our ACCESS family and even though he was here a short time he had such a big presence. Charming and popular with an infectious laugh and smile we will fondly remember Danny always.

I worked with Danny at Access Unlimited. He was a great person and I will miss him a lot.

I need to thank Danny for providing me so many cherished and wonderful childhood memories. I can still remember the first day I ever met Danny. It was the first day the Rodes and the Lanes were moving into 620-57th street. Danny and his beloved Grandfather Bucko (Who by the way was the person who taught me how to throw a curve ball) was going up and down the block on his big wheel. Here's Danny sitting in his big wheel with that big amazing smile of his with Bucko and his big walking stick pushing him along... You never saw a more loving, caring, and proud grandfather... 

Danny's spirit, smile, and love of family was just so amazing even at that early stage of his life. He single handily brought our entire block together with his amazing communication skills and his spirit of community. He was the ambassador of good will to our entire block of 57th street. 

I was very blessed, honored and very proud to have had Danny as a large part of my early life. Danny thanks for so many awesome memories my brother! What a party you guys must be having this week with Bucko, Mrs Lane and your amazing Mother and Father on your entrance into heaven. I bet Bucko has sang Heart of my Heart at least three times already...
