

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Debra J. Quilla, 49, of Bay Terrace, an x-ray technician who doted on her nieces and nephews, died Monday at home.
Ms. Quilla was born in Manhattan and raised in Great Kills, before settling in Bay Terrace.
She graduated from Tottenville High School.
Ms. Quilla graduated from Middlesex County College in Edison, N.J., with an associate's degree in applied science in radiography.
Ms. Quilla worked for 20 years as an x-ray technician at Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze. She also acted as an instructor at the hospital, training students in the field of radiology.
Ms. Quilla was a generous person, who was a loyal friend; she retained longtime friendships with many people whom she'd known since kindergarten, said her family.
In her leisure, she enjoyed reading and collecting Barbie dolls. She also took pleasure in spoiling her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her father, Robert Quilla, and two brothers, Frank and Michael Quilla.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare’s R.C. Church, also Great Kills. Burial will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, N.J.
