Diane Barca

Diane Barca passed away peacefully, at home, on July 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 12th, to Emile and Isabella Russo, Diane spent most of her life in New York until 6 years ago when she relocated to Virginia. She was married to Frank Barca until his death in 2004 and together, they raised their three children, Anthony, Christina and Jennifer. Diane was a licensed beautician and became the family and neighborhood hair stylist, where a visit was as much about conversation as it was about the haircut.

In her free time, Diane enjoyed volunteering at the Clarke County Senior Center where she generously gave her time and found great joy in helping others. She loved browsing thrift stores for that one “great find” -usually a pocketbook- and working on crossword puzzles (but never Word Find). She loved playing cards and was always up for a game of May I with family and friends or a quiet game of solitaire at her kitchen table. Diane appreciated life’s simple pleasures and cherished time spent with her grandchildren both near and far.

She is survived by her Children, Anthony (Deanna), Christina (Jim) and Jennifer (Vinny), Grandchildren, Olivia, Brooke, Sophia, Jonathan, Tristan, Julia and Audrey and Siblings, Florence, Ann and Francine, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and parents, Emile and Isabella.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Clarke County Senior Center in Diane’s memory. Contributions made in her honor will help continue the important work that meant so much to her. Please notate Clarke County Senior Center in the notes field.

A Committal Service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309, US, on July 25, 2026, at 11:45 am.
