Dianne McCahill (Thompson), a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, was born on March 14th, 1943. Dianne grew up on Staten Island and was raised in Richmond Town by her parents, Henry and Evelyn Thompson, alongside her siblings Ronald and Lois. She attended the elementary school P.S.28 and graduated from New Dorp High School in 1960. In 1968, she settled in Westerleigh with her husband, Brendan McCahill, whom she was married to for 53 years before Brendan passed away in 2022. In 1969, their daughter Tracie was born, whom they raised together.
Dianne enjoyed playing board games, watching game shows, making crafts, and spending time with her friends and family. Her laughter, neighborly spirit, and caring presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and was loved by many.
Dianne is survived by her granddaughter, Brianne Gonzalez, and son-in-law, Jaime Gonzalez. Dianne is predeceased by her beloved husband, Brendan McCahill; daughter, Tracie Gonzalez; sister, Lois; and brother, Ronald. Many nieces and nephews also survive Dianne. Visitation will be held at Harmon Funeral Home on Sunday,
September 28, from 2:00 to 6:00. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 29, from 10:00 to 10:30, followed by a committal service at Ocean View Cemetery from 11:00 to 11:30.
