Donald Charles Bischoff, 84, a lifelong Staten Island resident, passed away on August 15 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat Shea-Bischoff, and four children: Donald (Buster), Beth [Fisher], Karen, and Kimberly, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
For over 50 years, Don worked as a skillful carpenter and building contractor constructing many custom-built homes across Staten Island.
Don, who was known to work hard and play hard, was a good-humored, friendly face, always willing to lend a helping hand. An avid outdoorsman, Don enjoyed deer hunting at his Catskill cabin, and deep-sea fishing on his beloved Seahawk. During retirement years he traveled the world to exotic destinations including Australia, Egypt, the Amazon, Machu Pichu, Peru and many European destinations. Best of all, he enjoyed cruising the Caribbean.
In addition to his work and travel, Don kept himself busy with many hobbies such as winemaking, vegetable gardening, and growing giant pumpkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundations.
