

Donald C. Fahey of Manor Heights passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 8, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Donald and Anne Fahey. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Katherine, Robert, Sara, Michael; brother. James; and family members, Vita, Matthew, and Marc. He was predeceased by his son, Donald. Mr. Fahey was a 1966 graduate of Nazareth High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He took immense pride in being a veteran and sharing in the brotherhood forged by the military. He wore his Vietnam veteran hat every day, and throughout his life he was always involved in organizations assisting other veterans. Donald was a longtime employee of the City of New York working as a stationary engineer. Always a dedicated and hard worker, he would selflessly do anything to take care of his family, friends, and loved ones. For many years he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, particularly Troop 37, and the Freemasons. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children . Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home today, Monday, April 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral is Tuesday, April 11, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Teresa's Church, followed by burial at St. Peters Cemetery.
