Donna M Karbowski

Born in Castleton Corners, she was a graduate of Susan Wagner High School and the College of Staten Island, where she earned a bachelor's degree in science.

She worked as a dispatcher for Merck Shipping in Newark and in Morristown, N.J., until 1998.

Ms. Karbowski played on two softball teams in New Jersey and enjoyed camping, skateboarding and bicycling.

She was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners.

"She and her sister were best friends and she was a perfect daughter," said her mother, Jeanne Karbowski. "We all loved her and she loved us."

In addition to her mother, Jeanne, surviving are her father, Charles and a sister, Jeanette Lord.

The funeral will be Friday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:45 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
