Dorothy H Liedy

Dorothy Helen Liedy of Hazlet, N.J., born June 1929 in Staten Island, N.Y., died May 10, 2016 peacefully in Holmdel, N.J. A graduate of New Dorp High School and secretarial school, Dorothy was a secretary in NYC law firms and Bell Labs in New Jersey from age 17 to 65. Dorothy was a tremendously gifted seamstress. She designed and made clothes, gowns and wedding gowns. Her creativity led to her post-retirement business; she was co-owner with her cousin, Carol, of Auer Mini Wonderland Doll House Shop in Staten Island. Dorothy loved her family and dogs, Riley and Brittany, and loved watching the birds in her backyard. Visitation is Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral is Monday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Casey Funeral Home. Dorothy was predeceased by parents Marie and Anton Kostka, and husband Charlie Jay Liedy. She is survived by her children, Charles T. Liedy, Sharon Borrelli (Tom); grandchild Abigail Borrelli; cousin Carol Fiorentino and family, and the Liedy family of S.I.
