Dorothy Slattery, of Bay Terrace, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on October 30, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born in Brooklyn on August 6, 1941, and raised across Brooklyn and Queens, Dorothy was a true New Yorker. In 1966, she moved to Staten Island, where she settled and raised her family in the communities of Bay Terrace and Great Kills.
Dorothy worked as a Human Resources Manager and was also a staff member for the Girl Scouts of Greater New York. An active member of her residential community, she served as a past president of the Evergreen Park Condominium Board in Bay Terrace.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Linda Slattery and Donna Slattery (Neville Mobarakai). She was the cherished grandmother of two grandchildren, Olivia Mobarakai and Michael Mobarakai, who brought immense light and pride to her later years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory be directed to the American Cancer Society.
