Born Edith Brodbeck in Brooklyn, she moved to Bay Terrace in 1968.
A graduate of Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, Mrs. McManus worked as a waitress for Mike’s Place in New Dorp for 15 years.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and spending time with her family.
“She was an adoring grandmother and her family meant everything to her,” said her daughter, Debbie MacDonald. Her husband, John Jay McManus, died in 2011.
In addition to her daughter, Debbie, surviving are a son, John; three more daughters, Donna Fellner, Linda Langell and Elizabeth Ruzicka; a brother, George Brodbeck, and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:15 a.m. in St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
