Else Errico

Born Else Aaberg in Drammen, Norway, she immigrated to the United States with her family when she was 3 years old, moving to Brooklyn Heights, where she grew up and went to school.

She moved to West Brighton in 1952 and lived there until 1979, when she settled in Westerleigh. She had been a patient at the nursing home for about five months.

Mrs. Errico was proud of her Norwegian ancestry, and was an outstanding cook who loved to make traditional Norwegian goodies for the holidays.

An excellent seamstress, she helped take care of the ministers' robes at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Manhattan for many years. She also enjoyed crocheting.

"She was very kind and a caregiver for many people," said her son, Anthony (A.J.). She loved to make people happy."

Mrs. Errico was the mother of three sets of twins, family said.

Anthony, her husband of 31 years, died in 1991.

Surviving, along with her son, A.J., are her daughter, Laura Durney, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Great Kills. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton. The Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, is handling arrangements.
