Born and raised Estelle Thompson in Port Richmond, she lived in St. George and Travis before settling in Castleton Corners 25 years ago.
Mrs. Gallagher was a dedicated health care professional who often donated supplies to her patients. She worked as a mental health aide for 43 years at the former Willowbrook State School and later at a community residence. She retired in 2002.
She enjoyed reading, visiting Atlantic City and was a staunch New York Yankees fan.
Her husband of 10 years, Stephen, died in 1958.
She is survived by her son, Robert; her daughter, Marion Sarelis, and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
