Eugene F. Lynch, passed away on October 14, 2019 after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Staten Island, he loved to call anyone who moved from the Island a traitor! Gene graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School and soon after started a long and successful career in the hospitality business, spending nearly eighteen years at the Paramount Bar and Grill. He was the owner of Lynch’s Corner in Bayonne before purchasing the Rosebank Tavern on Bay Street, an historic neighborhood hangout he loved. For over 25 years, he greeted everyone who entered his tavern with the same, “Hey, what’s up?” A strong community man, Gene amassed loyal and caring friends who become an extension to his family. Having a wickedly sharp memory who could remember the smallest detail about his children, Gene is survived by his two sons, John and Padraic, his daughter, Lauren, and his granddaughter, Paloma. He was pre-deceased by his brother Joseph Lynch and is survived by his three sisters, Carol Lynch Lisa, Patricia Lynch Jester, and Janet Lynch Brusco.
A celebration of Gene’s wonderful life will be held at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Thursday, October 17 from 3pm -6pm. In lieu of flowers, the Lynch family requests contributions be made to Making Strides for Breast Cancer for Jennsjems in Gene’s memory.
