

Born Filomena Cirigliano in Todt Hill, she made her home in Stapleton since 1958.
During World War II, Mrs. Cassile worked for the former Elco company in Stapleton, wiring PT boats for the war effort.
In 1946, she met and married the love of her life, Leonard N. Cassile. They married in St. Teresa’s R.C. Church, Castleton Corners, and honeymooned in Atlantic City.
After her marriage Mrs. Cassile became a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children. When her children were young, she especially enjoyed taking them on outings to the park and playground.
In later years, she and her husband loved to return to Atlantic City to enjoy the casinos and boardwalk. She also enjoyed singing with the Todt Hill Friendship Club and listening to the radio, especially “The Joey Reynolds” show on WOR-AM.
Her husband, Leonard, died in 2009.
Surviving are her four daughters, Cynthia Cassile, Margie McGuinness, Nancy Ramirone and Phyllis Jacks; two brothers, Michael and Benny Cirigliano; a sister, Marie Cerullo, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Stapleton. Burial will be in Silver Mount Cemetery, Silver Lake.
