FRANCES V. HUMINSKI
Devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Francis Huminski 94, a lifelong SI resident passed peacefully on November 3, 2018. Born Frances Veronica Marusak (daughter of Polish Natives, Rozalia & Joseph) she grew up in Elm Park where she was a student and long time parishioner of St. Adalbert’s Church.
Fran loved to sing, and was a big fan of country music. In her earlier years she performed in the Colony Club where she recorded her first song SI Baby with the praise of Dottie West. The majority of her life was spent in West Brighton as a homemaker to her three children. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, trips to Atlantic City, word search and watching all of her favorite soap operas. She was an unapologetic cat lover, with many of her own and a warm heart that went beyond. Fran had a flare for style and accessorizing. Her love for fashion always shined through. She was always known by her friends and family of not leaving the home without her lipstick, rouge, hair and nails all done up. Most of all she loved to be and spend time with her family, sharing her love of her Polish heritage and fondness of kielbasa, pierogi’s and stuffed cabbage.
She is survived by her three loving Children, sons, Joseph Fumando, Michael Huminski (Linda) and daughter, Jean Ann Givner (the late Huey). Cherished mother-in-law of Lyle Fumando and brother, Stanley Marusak (Helen). Pre-deceased by siblings Rose (Claude), Sophie (Nelson), John (Mary), Joseph and Adam. Beloved Grandmother of Lisa Fumando, Joseph & Jennifer Fumando , Deborah Pappacoda, Myschele Vasquez, Jarrid Huminski, and the late, Mark Torre. Loving Great-Grandmother of Steven, Christopher, Gianna, Alexandra, and the late, Natasha. Fond Aunt of Henry, Claude, Prudy, Regina, Merry, Jaclyn, Patti, Maryann and the late, Johnny and Jeffrey.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 from 2 to 5 at Harmon Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service at 4pm. Private cremation to follow.

Frances V. Huminski

My sincere condolences to the family of Frances Huminski. Frances was a beautiful woman inside and out. I've known her since I was a child. Frances and my mother (Carmella Valente) and my aunt (Marie Coppola) were best friends for many years. We used to call them the "glamour girls" because they always looked so nice and loved sharing time together. My mother and my aunt are gone now also, but I'm sure they are all together and still enjoying each others company in heaven. May she rest in peace.
