

in the Windsor Terrace section of Brooklyn, it was there that as a teenager she met the love of her life, Thomas Kennedy.
Fran and Tom began dating when he accompanied her to the Senior Prom of Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in 1947. They
were married in 1949 and in 1959 they relocated to Meiers Corners in Staten Island to raise their family, eventually settling in Eltingville and
then Annadale before returning to Westerleigh.
They summered at their home in the Poconos and then East Durham before Tom passed away in 2019, just shy of their
70th wedding Anniversary.
Frances worked for several years as a secretary at the former St. Michael’s Home in Greenridge; however, she was most proud of
being a full-time homemaker and mother.
In her spare time Frances enjoyed crocheting, sewing, the NYTimes Crossword Puzzle, and a good game of Scrabble. She was a
devout Catholic and a devoted mother.
Frances is predeceased by her parents Raymond Catherine, and Alice and Clifford Townsend, her brother, John Brown, and sister, Joan
Townsend Johnson.
She is survived by her five children: the Honorable Raymond Kennedy, Denise Kennedy Warwick, the Honorable Robert T. Kennedy,
Mary Kennedy Carcaterra, and Thomas Kennedy; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-children.
