OBITUARY

Frances Patricia Stone

February 1, 1941August 17, 2020

Frances P. Stone passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17th at Haven Hospice House in Gainesville, Florida at the age of 79.

Frances, more affectionately known as “Fran”, was born to the late Francis and Elizabeth Curley in Staten Island, New York. She raised her family and spent most of her life in Kinnelon, New Jersey. In January 2019, she moved to Gainesville, Florida.

As a dedicated, hard working woman she spent most of her career as the Assistant Treasurer for the Township of Fairfield, NJ. When she wasn’t working, Fran enjoyed many hobbies and was thought of by many as a true ‘renaissance woman’. Her love of sports led her to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events through the years and she looked forward to watching her NY Rangers and Yankees. Fran had a passion for the arts, enjoyed classical music, admired nature and was an avid reader. Her depth and breadth of knowledge made her the best trivia partner at family gatherings. She revered the life of all creatures and provided a home to many animals through the years.

Fran was a caring wife to the late Eric Stone. She was a beloved mother to: Susan Uske, Margaret Howell, William P. Ball, Richard Ball and Barbara Bryson. She was a kind-hearted mother-in-law to: Theresa Ball, Carmen Ball, Eugene Uske, Bill Howell and Joseph Bryson. Fran was a fun-loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was a loving sister to Marjorie Moschella and brother-in-law, Sal Moschella. She is also survived by many adoring: cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing ceremony will be held on Friday, August 27, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Harmon Funeral Home (Staten Island). The funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, August 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM followed by a burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Billy, Ricky, Susan, Margaret, & Barbara - My sincere condolences to you and your extended families on your loss of Fran. Your Mom was a very sweet, caring, loving woman, who let me sleep over at your house about 100 times when we were kids. She was also a very tolerant and forgiving woman of some of our mischievous childhood antics. She invited me to go on a family vacation to Ortley/Seaside one summer with you guys, which is a great childhood memory of a very fun time for me. I also remember her deep affection for your pets, especially Liebchen and Mr. Stein. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Mike Mullin
