

Lifelong Staten Island Resident, Retired NYPD, 80 Frank R. Sullivan passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, 7/19, with his daughters at his side after a battle with colon cancer. Born in 1942, Frank was the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Sullivan. He grew up in both New and West Brighton and was a graduate of Curtis High School. As a rookie cop, he met his wife, Cathy, on the S.I. Ferry. They married in 1966 and bought their home in Sunnyside in 1972, where they raised their two daughters, Kim and Amy. Frank was a police officer for 25 years in the 1st Precinct, NY and worked various jobs during his police career and after retirement to provide for his family. These jobs included driving a cab, moving voting machines during elections, security with Federal Express and 30 plus years as a driver and pall bearer at Harmons and other funeral homes. Frank was a wonderful and generous father, husband and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, which included vacations at the Jersey Shore and holidays, especially his favorite, Thanksgiving (along with the traditional family outing to Delicious Orchards). He loved his grandkids, food, oldies music, politics, and weightlifting, movies with his childhood friend, Joe, magazines and car shows. He was a huge and knowledgeable car enthusiast. He also enjoyed his many cats and dogs over the years, projects in the house and yard and trips to Italy, Ireland and various islands with his wife. He is predeceased by his wife, Cathy (passed in 2017), and his sister, Maureen Svenningsen. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Cataudella (Alfred Cataudella), Amy Truscelli (James Truscelli), grandchildren, Michael Cataudella and Ava Truscelli sisters, Elizabeth Procaccini and Joan Dewey and godson, Carter Dewey. Visiting hours are Friday, 7/22 3pm -8pm at Harmon Home for Funeral, 571 Forest Ave. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10:45 am at Sacred Heart Church on 123 Castleton Ave.
