Frank Pompilii of Sunnyside passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 81 years. He was born in Controguerra, Abruzzo, Italy. He came to the United States with his family in 1958 at the age of 17.
Frank simply embraced life and lived life to the fullest. He spent every moment with his family doing things that made him happy. He loved being with people and working in his garden, he could grow just about anything, he enjoyed his daily walks in the park, taking trips to Atlantic City, and most importantly, vacationing every year with family. He was a caring man who would give you the shirt off his back. His children and grandchildren were his world and he lived for them. He was the perfect role model, and he will forever be missed.
Frank is survived by his wife, Doreen Pompilii, his two adored children, Carianne Leandro and Frank Pompilii, six cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Olivia, Francesco, Anthony, Gianna and Luca, his son in law Frank Leandro and daughter in law Kimberly Pompilii, two sisters Oriana DiFelice and Emelia Hurst and brother-in-law Fred Hurst. He will be reunited with his parents Orlando and Elda pompilii and his brother-in-law Adamo DiFelice.
A visitation for Frank will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 30 Manor Road, Staten Island, NY 10310. A committal service will occur Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway 79, Marlboro, NJ 07751.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 30 Manor Road, Staten Island, New York 10310.
