Cherished husband of the late Theresa (Dixon). Loving father of the late Timothy (Ann), Bruce (Louise), Nora & (the Late Robert) Viera, Mark & Ann (Jeffery) Holcomb. Devoted grandfather of Denise, Jamie, Kerry, David, Eric, Lisa, Theresa, Erin and the late Brian (Dorota Kowalska). Great-Grandfather of Dylan, Kieron, Adam, Catlyn, Timothy, Emily, Daniel, Brooklyn & Liam. Also survived by many Nieces and Nephews of the Haggerty, Dixon, Schiera & Melniszyn families & especially Rosie Forlano. George is predeceased by his parents Michael Haggerty & Julia Scully, his brothers Arthur and Raymond Haggerty.

Visitation will be held at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310, US, on October 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church, 130 Midland Ave, Staten Island, NY 10306, on October 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.

Committal Services will be held at The Green-Wood Cemetery, 25th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232, on October 10, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
