Trudy Burns was the selfless matriarch of her immediate family. She raised two daughters, Christina and Laura, and a son Robert while working more than three decades for the N.Y.P.D. The joy of her life was caring for her granddaughter Lyla whom she had a special bond with from the day that they first laid eyes on one another. Trudy was a caretaker and a nurturer. She gave to those in need, and had great faith in Christ. She enjoyed Victorian paintings and Norman Rockwell styled art from a bygone, more innocent time.
Trudy sadly passed on May 8 after exhibiting incredible bravery battling a serious 9/11 related illness.
The world has lost a special, gentle soul. She is only truly gone when those who loved her are.
