The lifelong Staten Islander was born Gertrude Patrella in New Brighton and lived there until moving to Rosebank in 1991.
She graduated from Curtis High School.
Mrs. Pair was an expert bowler in her younger years and had competed in a number of leagues.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards with friends, and visits to Atlantic City.
"She was a wonderful mother," said her daughter, Carol Seesman. "We love and miss her very much."
Mrs. Pair;s husband of 18 years, James (Buddy), died in 1964.
Surviving, along with her daughter, Carol, are her daughter, Lorraine Pair, and her sisters, Josephine Siani and Margaret Miceli.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
