Giustino Nicholas Valenti was a dedicated father, husband and nurse. He started his career as an EMT and volunteer firefighter while still a teenager. Even up until his death he continued to find ways to remain supportive of charities that he deeply loved such as Harboring Hearts, PSC Partners Seeking a Cure, and The Sisters of Life.
On 9/11 Giustino worked for St. Vincent's Hospital SI as a paramedic and though not scheduled to work that day, he ran in to help as was always his nature when someone was in need. After 9/11 he went on to become a nurse and became Assistant Nurse Manager in the ED at RUMC. Unfortunately 9/11 illnesses continued to challenge him and he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Though he endured unimaginable challenges with his condition for 6 years and spent half his time during those years in NYP Cornell, he fought endlessly to always return home to his wife Theresa and sons, Alex and Caleb ("Lil G"). Giustino and Theresa were not just husband and wife but also best friends and enjoyed doing everything together especially for their children. In addition to Theresa, Giustino is survived by his son Caleb "Lil G" and his rescue dog, Brooklyn. He was predeceased by his son Alex. We will always remember Giustino as a hero and he will be loved and missed forever.
