
Born Gloria Coronato on Staten Island, she lived in Rosebank and New Brighton before moving to Cranbury about eight years ago.
Mrs. Strofield attended Curtis High School and worked making artificial flowers at the former Merimac Flower Shop as a young girl. She also worked in a munitions factory during World War II making bombs and hand grenades. She later worked as a dietitian's aide for the former New York City Board of Education, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, visiting Atlantic City, and caring for her dog, Prince.
"She was the most wonderful mother-in-law that a son-in-law can have," said her son-in-law, Michael DeBaise.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Rosebank.
Her husband of over 50 years, Charles, died in 1980.
Surviving is her daughter, Sondra DeBiase.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grasmere.
