Harold J. Souffrin

Loving grandfather

Harold J. Souffrin, 72, passed away on Dec. 26, 2017. He was born on Feb. 11, 1945, in Manhattan. Harold grew up in South Beach, S.I., and resided in Dongan Hills.

Harold worked for New York State at South Beach Psychiatric Center until his retirement in 2002.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and listening to oldies music. Harry's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren: Steven, Julianna, Nicholas, Bryan, Lindsey, Anna, and Olivia. His wife, Anna, predeceased Harold in 1976.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia, and loving children, Christopher and his wife, Stacy; Denise and her husband, Lance Levine, and Steven and his wife, BettyAnn.

Harold was also loved by his many family members, including his siblings, Julian, Emma Benedetto, Margaret Ward, Joseph Garrighty, and Christine Todaro. He was predeceased by Bertha, Madeline, Patricia, and Thomas.

Visiting will be held at Virginia Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church in Dongan Hills at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at Moravian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Church.
