STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Harry Adamo, 78, of Grant City, a former bar and restaurant owner, died Monday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born in Hoboken, N.J., he moved to Grant City in 1979.

Prior to that, he worked for two years as an air conditioning and refrigeration engineer at the Plaza Hotel, Manhattan. He also worked as an automotive teacher in a government program for inmates who had been released from prison and needed to learn a trade or skill to re-enter society.

During that time, he also owned and operated for 20 years the Cafe Adamo, Brooklyn. Mr. Adamo was a parishioner of St. Christopher's R.C. Church, Grant City.

A handyman, he enjoyed rebuilding and fixing cars and jukeboxes. He also enjoyed reading about nutrition and holistic health.
