He attended Brooklyn Technical High School where his learned technical proficiency earned him a job at AT&T, where he served in various managerial positions for more than 37 years. After retiring from AT&T in 1989, Harry founded his own videographer business, “Harry’s Video Transfer,” chronicling celebrations for hundreds of families in the region.
He was an active volunteer in the local community, hosting bingo for several years at Holy Rosary. He also played Santa Claus at the church’s annual Christmas fair for a number of years. Harry was a lifelong learner and always welcomed an engineering challenge around the house with a fierce and focused energy, leading to a number of successful home-improvement projects.
Later in life, he blazed through word games, Scrabble boards and card games, rarely losing in any contest. To say he was an avid New York Giants fan would be an understatement. He was THE New York Giants fan. Harry was a season-ticket holder for the New York Giants since the 1950s and his various homes over the years were adorned from floor to ceiling with New York Giants memorabilia. A New York Giants victory often meant a celebratory Dewar’s White Label on the rocks. He was always a kind and gentle soul who loved his family and his dog, Boomer, deeply.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane; his son-in-law, Jeff; his grandson, Ryan; his granddaughter-in-law, Pamela; 14 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and his dear friend of 70 years, Joe Galletta.
Harry was predeceased by his first wife, Julia Walker (42 years of marriage); his second wife, Barbara Walker (14 years of marriage) and five siblings.
