David was the beloved son of the late Elmer and Eleanor (Donaghy) Hart.
He was born and raised on Staten Island. After High School David enlisted in the United States Marines and was stationed at Camp Lejeune. He travelled the world during those years.
While on Staten Island he worked for the Staten Island Rapid Transit, and then as a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He relocated to Florida in 1974 and worked for the US Post Office in Tampa until his retirement.
David loved cruising the highways visiting interesting and historical sites. He particularly loved trains and locomotives and their history throughout the US.
David married Linda (Fredericks) Hart in June of 1969. He took amazing care of her until she passed away in 2014.
He is survived by his Aunt Margaret Goller, his niece Michele Buono (Scott), his brothers and sisters through marriage Martha Hampton (Charles), Janice Zanelotti, Joan Lane, Kathy Cotter, and Frank Karpicki (Eileen). He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
The family wants to give special thanks to cousins Walter and Kathy Kormann who provided amazing care to David during his last few months.
David was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
