

Born Helen Castagne in Brooklyn, she graduated from Bishop McDonald High School there.
She moved to Arden Heights in 1990.
She enjoyed gardening, crafting and visiting Nickerson Park Campground in the Catskills. Mrs. Mather also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader.
Mrs. Mather loved the Christmas season, and especially enjoyed having the whole family over for the holidays. She took great pleasure in decorating her house for the occasion, and received many accolades from her neighbors for her designs.
She was a parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church, in Eltingville, where she taught CCD classes and formerly attended St. Vincent Ferrer R.C. Church in Brooklyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Conigliaro, in 1988, and by her daughter, Patricia Santangelo, in 1993.
Surviving are her daughters, Maryanne Panebianco, Kathy Raven and Helen Ross; her brother, Edward Castagne; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Child Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Queens.
