Helen McTigue passed away on October 28, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to James McTigue, for over 55 years who predeceased her in 2016. They began their life together in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Bay Terrace, Staten Island.
She was the loving mother of Laura, Susan, Thomas and Robert. Her grandchildren John, Jackie, Chris, Kayla, Heather and Ophelia adored her. She also was the great grandmother of Theo.
Helen dedicated her life to contributing to the happiness of her family, friends and neighbors. Her warmth and care had a gravitational force of its own; anyone who entered her home left full of food and happy memories to last a lifetime. When she wasn’t playing cards with her neighborhood friends, she could be found spreading her love of games and puzzles to her children and grandchildren. An incredibly family-oriented woman who stayed involved in the lives of her relatives and has left her mark with her many unique habits and sayings. Her bright presence will be deeply missed by those she left behind.
