Ilse Geiling Stahl Block, maiden name Ilse Emma Zettl, born on June 19, 1936, passed away on January 29, 2024 at the age of 87. Ilse was born in Czechoslovakia and at a young age moved to Germany. In 1969, she immigrated to the United States with Erich Geiling and their two small children, Karl and Karoline.
In the United States, Ilse became a Doberman dog breeder and was once featured in the magazine Top Dob. She was co-owner of Stahl’s Pastry Shop, owner of a pet store and a five and dime store. She was a skillful painter and avid organic gardener and she had a quite the sense of humor.
Ilse was predeceased by two children, Thomas Urberal and Karoline Geiling and survived by her son Karl Heinz Geiling, her grandchildren Sabrina, Amanda and Karl E. Geiling, her daughters-in-law Hedwig Urberal and Amy Spencer and grandson-in-law, Patrick Costantino.
