Iris Lieberman DeSimone

Iris was born on December 4th, 1951 in The Bronx, NY, to Hilda & Harry Lieberman and was the youngest of three loving brothers, Larry, Roger, and Gilbert.

To know Iris was to love Iris. She could brighten up any room with her infectious laugh, her positive energy, and her joy for life. Iris enjoyed spending time with her friends and family whether it be fancy outings like Tea at The Plaza for her birthday, vacations, or simple things like cooking new recipes and watching football with her son-in-law Richie on Sundays. Iris loved animals, especially dogs, and they loved her right back, her grand-dog Murphy loved her most.

Iris was a wonderful friend and sister, but her proudest title was “Mom” to her only daughter, Ashley. There was nothing more in life that Iris wanted than to be a mom, and she dedicated her life to being the best one there could ever be. When you think of an amazing mom you think of someone strong, determined, intelligent, responsible, all qualities Iris had and more. Iris and Ashley were more than just mother, daughter, but best friends.

Iris may be gone from our sight, but her memory will live on forever. And for now, we will hold Iris in our hearts, until we can hold her again in heaven.

A visitation for Iris will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home.
