He was born and raised in Brooklyn, where he attended Brooklyn Technical High School. Mr. Schleidt moved to Port Richmond in 1969 and settled in Concord in 1981.
He was the owner of the Park Coffee Shop in Manhattan and also was a waiter at Mike’s Unicorn Diner in Willowbrook.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling and antiquing.
Mr. Schleidt was a parishoner of St. Sylvester’s R.C. Church, Concord.
Surviving are his brother, Raymond, and his sisters, Louise McNeill and Carol Cavanaugh.
The funeral will be Monday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Brighton.
