Jean was born on November 12, 1945, in New Dorp. She attended New Dorp High School and graduated in 1963. Before marrying her beloved husband, John, Jean worked for Maersk Shipping Company. She and John shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, raising their family and making their home first in Annadale and later in Huguenot.
Jean found joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, baking, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Her four grandchildren were her greatest joy and held a very special place in her heart. She was always quick with a joke, always had a smile on her face, and had a way of making those around her feel happy and loved. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her sister, Barbara; and her brothers, Robert and Frederick.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Pollio and her husband, Raymond, and their children, Emily and Ryan; and Keri Ostrander and her husband, Thomas, and their children, Colin and Aidan. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Patricia Bovino, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jean’s family was her greatest source of happiness, and she was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed more than words can express, but the love, laughter, and memories she gave her family will remain in their hearts forever.
