

Born on Staten Island, she was a graduate of Port Richmond High School.
After she and Nicholas R. Spagnole wed in 1953, the couple lived in West Brighton; they settled in Westerleigh in 1969.
Mrs. Spagnole worked for the New York City Department of Education as a cook at PS 20 in Elm Park for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Spagnole enjoyed fishing, camping and taking trips to Atlantic City. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She was proud of every achievement in their lives and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gigi."
“She was a beautiful woman inside and out and the best mother-in-law that anyone could ask for,” said her son-in-law, Joseph Spagnola.
She attended Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, West Brighton.
Nicholas, her husband of 55 years, died in 2008.
She is survived by a son, Nicholas Jr.; a daughter, Mary Ann Spagnola; two sisters, Frances Galgano and Rose Perone; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
