

Born in the Bronx, she moved to Staten Island with her family as a little girl, and had lived in Great Kills for 53 years.
A graduate of Tottenville High School, Ms. Sell attended Pace University, Manhattan, studying nursing, then completed her bachelor's degree at the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook. She received her master's degree in business administration from Baruch College, Manhattan.
She was a nurse for many years at various hospitals, and had been working as a clinical trainer for Health Plus NY in Brooklyn. She stopped working due to illness in 2008.
Ms. Sell loved taking cruises to Bermuda. She also enjoyed reading mysteries.
She was very giving and always wanted to help people, her family said.
"She was very fond of her nieces, Pam and Kate," said her sister, Karen Cornetz.
Ms. Sell was a parishioner of Christ Lutheran Church, Great Kills, where she sang in the choir and was involved in many activities.
Surviving, along with her sister, Karen, are her parents, William and Dorothea Sell.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills. Arrangements include cremation.
