It is with great sadness that I am reporting that my twin sister Joan Cunningham has passed away. I was very proud of my sister’s achievements. She graduated from St. Peter’s Girls High School & Wagner College, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then went on to NYU to achieve her PHD and began her career in teaching. She reached the pinnacle of her career when she became the Dean & Chair of the Nursing Department at the County College of Morris in New Jersey. Due to an illness, she retired in 2013 to her home in West Caldwell, New Jersey. Joan resided in West Caldwell for over 40 years. Her health began to fail her and eventually her bouts with dementia required her to be admitted to Clove Lakes Nursing Home. Her ordeal eventually ended on Sunday, March 19th. She is in a better place and at peace.
