Joan Fairechio

Joan Fairechio (Wisbauer) 81, of Staten Island, NY passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017 surrounded by her family. Joan was born in Brooklyn to the late John and Helen (Murray) and moved to Woodhaven as a baby where she spent most of her life. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle, graduated from Bishop McDonnell High School and worked as a legal secretary in Manhattan before raising her family. Joan was the beloved wife of 40 years of the late William (Willie) who she took loving care of for 25 years. She loved spending time with her family – daughter Joanne Schipani and her husband Stephen and her son William and his girlfriend Mary as well as her step grandchildren Vincent and Erica, her cherished cousins, and her many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her dear brother Walter Wisbauer.

Services are being held by Casey Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday January 16, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 9:45 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 88-19 88 Avenue, Woodhaven, NY.
