

Born Joan R. Castellanos in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she grew up in Dumont, N.J., and graduated from Dumont High School. She settled in West Brighton in 1998.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Georgian Court University, Lakewood Township, N.J., and received her master's degree from Iona College, New Rochell, N.Y.
Mrs. Pressler taught primarily at schools in the Archdiocese of Newark. For the past few years she had worked as a tutor for Champion Learning Centers at various locations in the New York area.
She enjoyed reading and going on cruises and was a Yankees baseball and Giants football fan.
Mrs. Pressler was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners, where she was a Eucharistic minister.
Surviving are her husband of 17 years, Richard; her parents Edward and Renee Castellanos, and her brothers, Paul and James Castellanos.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
