Joann Callahan

Born on June 17, 1959, in Staten Island, New York, Joann grew up in the Concord neighborhood, where she attended St. Sylvester School before graduating from New Dorp High School.

Joann dedicated many years of her professional life as a legal secretary with Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLC in Lower Manhattan. She was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and unwavering work ethic. More importantly, she will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Above all else, Joann cherished her family. She was the beloved wife of John Callahan for 36 wonderful years. She is also lovingly survived by her brother, Steven (Jean); her sisters-in-law, Peggy and Kathleen; her brothers-in-law, Thomas, Francis, Joseph, and Stephen; and her many cherished nieces and nephews, who will forever treasure her memory.

Joann was predeceased by her parents, Edith and John Mazza, and her brother, Paul Mazza.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10310.

Following cremation, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joann's warmth, compassion, and quiet strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she enriched. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
