

Born Joann Muscarella in Brooklyn, she graduated from Bay Ridge High School there. She settled in Annadale in 1986.
Mrs. Limeri had worked as a teacher's assistant for the Eden II School for Autistic Children for five years; she was working at the time of her death.
Mrs. Limeri enjoyed spending time with and entertaining family and friends. She loved to cook and was renowned amongst family for her homemade penne with vodka sauce and her rice pudding.
Mrs. Limeri was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.
"She battled ovarian cancer for 21 months and fought as hard as she could with grace, courage and always with a smile. She never complained, she just always put everyone else before herself," said her daughter, Julieann Limeri.
Also surviving Mrs. Limeri are her husband of 33 years, Fred; her stepson, Alfred Limeri III; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Limeri; her father, Rocco Muscarella, and her brother, John Muscarella.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains
