John Humin Jr was born on January 31, 1951 in Staten Island, NY to John and (the late) Ethel Humin. He was better known to friends and family as Buddy. He was the brother to four sisters, Eileen, Maureen, Kathleen, and Carol and one late brother, William.
Buddy graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1969. He owned an Arnold Bread route for 32 years, and since 2016, worked as a brand representative for Bimbo Bakeries.
When Buddy was not working in the stores, he spent much of his free time as a devoted father to Kelly and Kristy and grandfather to 5 grandchildren. He was always eager to see AJ (14), Nikki (12), Christen (10), Max (2) and Connor (newborn). Knowing Buddy was to know a big kid at heart. He was a prankster and a jokester his entire life and with that, he had a unique ability to make his grandkids laugh infectiously. Whether it was a snowball fight before school with Nikki and Christen, sneaking candy to Max, or simply driving around to run errands with him, as AJ so often did, the kids loved and adored their “Pop Pop”
Buddy will be missed dearly by all, and will be remembered for his sense of humor that made so many laugh and smile.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:45 AM on Tuesday at St. Teresa Church. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 – 4 PM and 7-9 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY.
