John M. Kane, a lifelong Staten Island resident, died suddenly on August 22nd at the age of 49. He was the beloved son of the late John (Jack) Kane and Barbara Kish Kane. John grew up in West Brighton and, until recently, had lived for several years in Westerleigh.
A graduate of Curtis High School, John enjoyed his lengthy career as a barber. He worked in barber shops throughout the island after having owned his own barber shop for several years on Clove Road in Grasmere. He enjoyed the camaraderie he experienced with his clients and co-workers.
John was predeceased by his beloved brother, Rob Cory. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in both the Kish and Kane families, and by his long time dear friend, Sarah Knoblach.
There will be a memorial service at the Casey Funeral Home, Staten Island, on Friday, September 4th. He will be laid to rest in St Peter’s Cemetery.
