Born in Brooklyn, he moved to the Island in 1998.
He worked as a longshoreman in Brooklyn for 40 years, retiring in 2005.
He loved music, boxing and visiting Atlantic City. He liked baseball and was an avid Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Jean Pollio; a daughter, Janine Palazzotto; a brother, Gregory Lagana, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
